We had excellent service. It was start of crab week so we had several crab starters. The blue crab claws were amazing. The soft shell crab was good but had a heavy breading. Have the gumbo, it was great. Our entree was the red snapper and shrimp and grits. The red snapper was a nice piece of fish but the breading was thick. This took away from the fish. The shrimp and grits had a huge helping of grits that was blue cheese flavor. It’s was ok but a bit too much. The building is old and has a lot of history. We were happy we went and enjoyed the experience.

Food was excellent. Service was good, but not excellent. Server was very polite, professional, and friendly. Had long time gaps however on server coming back to table for drink refills, check, take away containers, and the restaurant wasn't over crowded. So only 4 stars instead of 5 stars on that metric. We will definitely go back again, it’s a great restaurant. And the seafood chowder is a must try…delicious.

We decided to try a very late lunch and take dessert home for dinner. It was a great idea. The restaurant was quiet, we got a table looking out at the water, the food was great and service was outstanding. Plus, I never normally get to eat dessert because I’m full after the main course, so it was great to have dessert (which was really delicious) later that evening! Altogether a great experience. We will be going back soon.
