Reasonably priced Yaki tori modern Japanese restaurant. Nice selection of Japanese drinks and an opportunity to enjoy a sake tasting selection of 4 sakes. The sakes were nice, however a little small on the serving size and I always like to have a printed menu of the sakes to remind me of what I am having. This way I can always find a bottle of preferred sake online from one of the online shops now available in Australia. In saying that the staff did give a fair description of the sake as it was being served. The decor was modern and if you are looking for a smoky izakaya like yakitori bar similar to what you may have experienced in Japan this will not meet your expectations. We sat at a bench during our experience to watch the staff working over the grill as I also like to make my own yakitori at home.

I can be critical when dining out. But there was nothing at all to criticise at Vela. Varied & delightful menu. Food was just great. The star of the dishes was the wagyu beef. All dishes were very good. Service was friendly & efficient. Meals came out quickly and the prices were reasonable. I would certainly recommend.

We went there to celebrate our friend's birthday around 7 pm. The staff were super nice and friendly. I'm a vegetarian, and they tried to fulfil my requirements as I wanted the rice bowl without salmon. The food was so good; we loved the tacos so much. The turmeric and coconut rice was the best! We will definitely come back!
