The newly renovated Mon Ami Gabi is beautiful! Long elegant bar, big windows with lots of natural light, handsome tables and booths, including two cleverly recessed semicircular booths for privacy. The former Hagen Das next door is now Mon Ami Gabi's handsome new back room, containing a second bar for private parties. Waiters and staff are exceptionally kind and nice looking and friendly. Ours brought an ice cream profiterole with a candle to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant's escargot mascot, Escar, is shown in the floor tile mosaic, and adorns the cute snail pins worn by the staff. The menu is mostly the same as previously, but with higher prices. We had the crab cake ($36) and the French dip steak sandwich ($25), both very good but not exceptional. Luckily they accepted points from our Lettuce Entertain You card which lowered the bill a bit. Mon Ami Gabi might want to consider daily specials at lower prices, to keep customers coming back.

The ambience and the service are always good. The food can be hit or miss and the air conditioning is periodically broken, so overall it’s good, but this time it wasn’t great.

Great concept to mashup French and southern! The place was empty for lunch but that gave us a table at the window. Lovely space. Food selection was good. Salad for the Benedict was tasty but heavy on the dressing. The eggs Benedict was good but bacon was tough, not crispy. The price for food was reasonable. The service was pleasant enough. Ambiance was very fun and nice, kinda place you can have a quiet meal with a friend
