Good first time here. The ordering system is original but doesn’t cause any trouble. Food is good, the menu is rather short but cover all basis. Service is minimal but good. The fact that you pay upfront doesn’t allow for extra tipping for exceptional service, might not be an issue here as minimal service. Nice views from pretty much every table. All in all good first time, will be back.

Another pleasant lunch at Carve with a couple of good options for a gluten free vegetarian. I opted for a salad which was lovely but needed more dressing. I am sure I could have asked our very attentive server to provide more. We sat on the patio which was beautiful and peaceful. A great setting.

The two chefs (also servers) at the Alert Bay Lodge are not only friendly and welcoming, but damn they can cook. We had the most tasty clam chowder I have ever had, and the salmon and risotto was cooked perfectly. The kids were licking their plates and I wanted to too! The table looked out into the ocean with spectacular views alongside gentle music. All this and I still felt comfortable in my raggedy old skirt and tea stained t-shirt. Yum.

Excellent place to stop in our way to Port McNeil from Victoria. Great food and atmosphere and waitress was really helpful and friendly. Nice spot over looking Campbell river and was a lovely evening too all in all would highly recommend and the mile high mocha pie was recommended and for good reason very yummy and fed 4 of us 🤩
