From walking in the staff were very friendly, and helpful. The venue itself very contemporary clean and well presented table, our booth was excellent exactly what was requested for an intimate anniversary for four. I believe it was Anna who was very polite ran us through the menu and the special offers. The menu was just right not lots and lots of dishes to confuse simply presented with a good choice of seafood and steaks to accommodate anyone. The food itself was well presented the starters all seafood were very nice the prawns were cooked perfectly. The mains were excellent all of us having various steaks which apart from being delicious were cooked to each individual requirement perfectly. Overall an outstanding meal even on a quiet weekday very impressed we all said we would be back soon great food great quality at a good fair price

Food was best Italian food we have had in years ! Staff very attentive, and a lovely touch that the owner actually came out and introduced himself and asked if everything was OK, lovely attention to detail will be back 😊

Everytime I visit Sunderland to either go to the Sunderland Empire or The Fire Station I always book The Engine Room for food. There is always a great choice of food and the menu is changed regularly. The food is always delicious, freshly cooked and most importantly hot. Would definitely recommend

Great food at a reasonable price. Bar and serving staff were first class. Young chap behind the bar/served us was very polite and professional (didn’t get his name but had glasses).
