The Cliff Hotel dates back to 1890 when the original hotel was opened, in 1915 the building was ravaged by fire and demolished. The old staff accommodation was renovated into a new hotel, the building that we currently occupy today. All of our dining will be either 6.30 or 7.00pm starts, unfortunately we will not be able to offer any later tables.Our Adult only fine dining restaurant has been awarded two rosettes by the AA for the quality of our food. We aim to host the majority of our summer and early autumn dining, alfresco in our newly built under cover outside dining experience in the garden. Excellent food and service.Great value lunch menu.Wife had half wing of skate from thus.Other 3 had haddock chips and peas from main menu.Good sized portions,everything very well cooked and presented.Had 4 different desserts,all again well presented and delicious.Will return!!

It was a prom night so they were very busy, they still tried to accomadate all the other guests who were there. Meat quality was a little low, steak was supposed go be medium rare but was well done and full of gristle. Peppercorn sauce and chips were divine. So I think the price point was a little steep. But you are paying for the view and lovely environment. Your waitresses are very attentive and tried their best even with a hectic evening!
