Located across the street from Historic Rocky Mountain College on Poly Drive, The Granary has been a landmark restaurant in Billings, MT for nearly 50 years! Originally built in 1935, the Granary served as the milling department for Billings Polytechnic Institute until World War II when they closed the doors.The recent remodel in 2022 breathes new life into a historic building. Accents of rough cut timbers and cold rolled steel run throughout the Dining room and Bar giving the building a modern feel while keeping the spirit of Billings History alive.

    First, and most importantly, the food and service were excellent... the caveats: After looking over the menu and wine list on their website, our expectations were sky high... but it turns out that the menu has been downgraded from what's on the web, the wine list is not a great match for what's on the web, and several of the wines shown in the hard-copy list turn out to not be available - although apparently, they are in the middle of a change of distributors so this may become better when the change is complete. Full house when we dined and it was quite noisy; we had to raise our voices just to be heard across a small table for two. Not a serious distractor, but if you're interested in quiet conversation this is not the place. Still, overall, a good experience.

    The service was professional and attentive, the food was well prepared, and the treatment and accommodation for our anniversary dinner was very special and generous. All and all, it was a memorable dining experience.
