Restaurants near Queens Hall Edinburgh

Meal for 5 adults. Restaurant nicely decorated. We sat downstairs with a table that had one side as booth style seating and other chairs. Unfortunately the chair I had was wobbly (not due to the floor, just needed tightening or something). We had a spare chair at our table so I tried that one but it was the same. Asked waitress for another chair and she brought a sturdy one (however this was lower than the other chair and I felt too low for the table). Orders were taken quickly and drinks came out quickly. We just had mains and sides. All pizzas except one came out quickly. When 4 pizzas were brought out we had to ask which pizzas were which as the fifth one was a similar (but different) order to one that had arrived. When we asked this there seemed some confusion (I believe the fifth pizza had been made incorrectly which was discovered when they brought the other four). Waiter didn’t really answer us as to which pizzas we had on table (but we worked it out). Waited quite a while for the last pizza. We were all looking to catch a waiters eye to ask/remind we were still waiting but no one came near. Rest of table were halfway through our pizzas were when a waitress came to ask if everything was ok, at which point we alerted them to the fact we were still missing a pizza. Manager happened to be coming over at that point and both went off to kitchen. Pizza came out shortly after. To be honest we all work in hospitality and understand mistakes happen so we weren’t really bothered about having to wait for last pizza. However, the customer service was really lacking. We weren’t informed what was going on/how long it would be. Just left with four pizzas until someone finally came to check all was well. We would have expected the initial waiter to come back and let us know there had been an issue and pizza was being made and would be out in X time. Disappointing. Pizzas were good. I wouldn’t bother with fries again.

Excellent meal from start to finish... don't usually do dessert, but the starter and main were so good that we wanted more. A hidden gem... that we would never have found without the app.

This is a real gem of a restaurant. Outstanding food, all so delicious and great service. Will definitely be back!
