El Jacmel Inn se abrió en junio de 1977, después de 6 meses reformando el establecimiento en el que se encuentra, construido en 1888. Este establecimiento antiguo de 2 plantas ocupa casi 1 hectárea y se sitúa a 9 calles del centro histórico de Hammond. El exuberante paisaje, el nuevo patio y el amplio aparcamiento hacen del Jacmel Inn un oasis culinario al que merece la pena ir, a solo 96 kilómetros de Nueva Orleans. El menú de platillos ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años, pero siempre utiliza marisco fresco de Luisiana y técnicas de cocina y platillos derivados de la cultura tradicional de Luisiana. Hace 31 años que sirve filetes excelentes de res de Iowa alimentada con maíz. El chef Doyle Orlando crea un menú de platillos que cambia cada temporada.
