A celebration of Sherry, Wine, Tapas, & Friends. Influenced by the culture of sip-a-little-bit-of-this-and-eat-a-little-bit-of-that, Tapavino began in August 2012 as Australia’s first Sherry Bar in Sydney, in a little lane-way not unlike something you would find in the cobblestoned alleyways of Spain. Helped by the beautiful warm vibe that greets you as you step inside and take a seat among floor-to-ceiling wine bottles, Tapavino was named runner-up in Sydney Morning Herald's 'Best New Bar' Awards within 4-months of opening. 12-months later we were named 'Best Bar with Food'.

Conveniently located at the end of the Wharf 4/5 complex, immediately next to Wharf 1 & 2 theatres – albeit a longish walk in from the street. That said, the walk is lined with wonderfully memorable theatre photos, so it ends up being a theatre-lover's ramble, rather than an arduous walk. The atmosphere is casual and vibrant, with magnificent views of the bridge, harbour, and marine traffic. Magic. It's worth allowing more time than you think, both because it can be busy, and, it's worth relaxing and soaking it all up. The outside area is marvelous, and even on our winter, 12 degree night, the overhead heaters kept us quite warm. While busy, we found the time between ordering food at the bar, and delivery, to be very reasonable. The drinks and food menu is comrehensive enough to cater for all tastes I would say. Based upon our meals, the food quality is good. Leaving desert until after the show can work well, but check on show finish time etc etc with the staff before you assume that it will work. The staff we encountered were super friendly, obliging, and competent. It's hard to find fault with this establishment, which in my view is a perfect accompaniment to a night at the STC Wharf 1 and 2. Well done team.

my wife and I were visiting Sydney during the Vivid Festival. During this period the menu was a Set Menu at the Restaurant. There was two different menus, one was $99 and the other was$120. We chose the $120 menu. My personnel opinion was that the meal was not up to a $120 per person level. We have eaten at The Squires Landing Restaurant in the past and it was excellent. I believe the set menu option is not the way to go. It will not deter us from eating there again when we visit Sydney in the future.
