Claudio Pirollo grew up in Belgium where he soon discovered his passion for cooking as he wandered around his father’s fine Italian épicerie (grocery store) and watched his mother prepare dinner every day. The dual influence of Italy and Belgium triggered Chef Pirollo’s aspirations to develop his knowledge and experience with different flavors.A Trattoria is not a pizzeria, it is an Italian-style eating establishment that is generally much less formal than a ristorante but more formal than an osteria. It is similar to what the French call Bistrot.Trattorias are traditionally family owned, casual, rustic neighborhood restaurants found throughout all of Italy that offer fresh, regional, local and family specialties on the menu.

I love supporting the farmers cooperative. The food is amazing. The service is great. Upstairs is quieter than downstairs. Everyone I’ve taken here has loved it.

Old Ebbitt Grill offers a timeless dining experience. The historic charm and classic decor create an inviting atmosphere, making it a top pick for history enthusiasts like me visiting DC. The menu features American cuisine, with particularly outstanding seafood. We ordered many fresh oysters, which were perfect and highly recommended. The attentive and kind staff enhanced our overall experience. We visited for a casual lunch as tourists and thoroughly enjoyed it. Making a reservation is advisable, as it likely contributed to our seamless dining experience. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely table for our special occasion lunch right by the big window. The six of us ordered multiple dishes from the hot and cold mezze and enjoyed every single one. My son said the chicken kabob was “the best chicken I have ever eaten in my life.” The zucchini pancakes, roasted Brussels sprouts and Labneh with zaatar were standouts for us, and the hot puffy bread of course. The pides had good flavor but just a tad too much cheese on top for us. Service was very friendly and efficient. Thank you for making our lunch memorable.
