Brilliant as always, Had had the tasting menu before, but still got positive surprises from the exceptional flavour combinations and wine pairing. Service friendly and perfect. Our friends who joined us for the first time agreed, and for this quality and flavour of food it is outstanding value compared to similar restaurants.

We visited the River Shack to join their Summer Solstice party. We were not disappointed. The table was in a quiet area, the food was delicious. We chose a dish from the main menu and their Pizza special. The service was great - polite, friendly and calm. Ambience and view were beautiful. The live music finished the party off well. A very relaxing experience.

We had the cream tea and it was delicious. The scones (1 fruit, 1 plain each) were served warm with plenty of clotted cream and jam. A lovely pot of tea was included all for £8.50. The interior of the hotel is amazing and the views over Torbay from the dining room are beautiful. Altogether a very enjoyable experience, we will certainly be going back.
