"Right or wrong, I was disappointed that the restaurant was in a hotel -my husband and I were looking for a good local restaurant before we headed to a show at the Fox. Not the mandatory restaurant a hotel should have... But we stayed and ate as we were then pressed for time and we were really glad that we did. We ate at the bar and the bartender treated us like the "local" restaurant we were hoping to attend. GREAT food, creative menu, great service and fun location after all."See more
"Fantastic waitstaff. Tavern just reopened so everyone was very attentive. We ordered the French onion soup, Tavern chopped greens & “da burger”. The soup was ok, but a bit one-note, lacking the complexity of good French onion soup. The gratinee was provolone, which is odd on something billed as French. The salad was a total bomb..tasteless, anemic tomatoes, nothing “chopped”, & the baby kale leaves were still connected by thick stems. The original Tribune Tavern had the best burger I’d ever tasted so there were high hopes. “Da burger” was good, but no match for its predecessor. Bun is crumbly, but the flavor of the meat is good. Fries are good. Portions DEFINITELY smaller than they used to be. Felt like everything was a tad on the chintzy side - small servings of condiments, burger accoutrements."See more
"Ambiance is the key in this place. Service is good but they take their time so enjoy your drink.
The servers are well trained and very knowledgeable, follow their recommendations and you will have a great dinner."See more
"Made reservations but when we arrived the person that tried to help us had no clue about reservations and we could not understand him. Cocktail was watered down.
No table ready for us....why allow reservations?"See more
