The flagship brand of his growing, family of eponymous eateries, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse tells the story of his life. From the opulent interiors to the artwork & antique furnishings to the sign on the original Cincinnati location that reads “Since 1948” (the year Ruby was born), every facet has a special meaning to the man himself. Now open in Nashville, TN, each iteration of these critically-acclaimed restaurants is rooted in the heritage of the original, yet each also tells a tale of its own, inextricably woven into the unique fabric of the community in which it resides. The most noteworthy element of the brand – and undeniably the key to its success – is The Jeff Ruby Experience, an all-encompassing philosophy embodying the very best U.S.D.A. Steaks, Fresh Seafood, Impeccable Service, Live Entertainment and Passionate Attention To Detail. These qualities and more create a total dining experience unlike any other. We reserve a table at Skull’s every time we pass through Nashville…a few times a year. It NEVER disappoints! We love the 5* food and the menu is for foodies (foie gras, escargots, tuna tartar, beef carpaccio are just on their appetizer menu!). Inventive drinks and the piano music followed by live jazz at 7:30 with singers at 8…amazing place! It gets very loud, so be prepared, but we love the old time supper club/speakeasy ambience. Service is impeccable!

My husband and I ate here for our wedding Anniversary. Sam was our waiter and he went above and beyond to make us feel special. We were in a slight hurry to make it somewhere afterwards and he sped the dinner up so we were able to make it to our next event. He was also very knowledgeable of the menu, had great suggestions and was personable. We would definitely return if we make a trip to Nashville again.

I was dining here with my mother on vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and chose to dine because we love Frank Sinatra! Our server was Mason, who did a wonderful job, and was informative and timely. My mother enjoyed the Caprese salad and Ragu Pappardelle while I got the Zuppa Toscana and Slow-braised Rabbit. All the flavors popped out and were amazingly balanced, hats off to Lorenzo Reyes the executive chef and the rest of the team back there. The hosts were also very polite and professional giving us a smile when we arrived as well as when we left. Entertainment at the piano was lovely. I’m no VIP or food critic, but what I can say is that this place is high-class and treats every guest with respect and equality. Excellent job from all staff. Will be coming back if I ever travel to Nashville again.
