El restaurante Chandler abrió sus puertas en diciembre de 1999 detrás del edificio histórico de Symons General Store. Es un lugar acogedor, con sólo 50 lugares en el comedor principal y 10 en el bar.     Beautiful piano music played while we dined overlooking Lake Huron. Katherine was amazing and treated us like friends making sure our dinner experience was 5 star. Her attentiveness to every detail including calling us by our first names made the evening perfect. The food was beyond delicious. We all had the planked whitefish which melted in your mouth. Exactly what we were looking for to end our visit. Best of luck in your Florida/Michigan adventures Kathleen.

    Our dinner was absolutely delicious! The view is spectacular and the service was exceptional! Our server was very knowledgable friendly and always making sure we were good. Highly recommend if you are on Mackinac Island!

    My first time dining experience at The Straits Restaurant was wonderful! The food, décor & ambiance is elegant, yet fun & unique. As I mentioned to our waiter, concierge & manager, “The Straits is showy, but fun & different. Never a dull time.”

    Great ribs and brisket as were the accompanying beans and cornbread. Server was very good - appropriately attentive and personable. We ate on the outside patio. No island scenery to speak of, but it was just fine if you’re in the mood for BBQ.
