Restaurants near Mount Mitchell

Our dinner at Luminosa (celebrating a birthday) was spectacular! We shared the bucatini, which was outstanding, comparable to pasta we had in Italy, followed by perfectly grilled chicken and excellent trout. Thyme panna cotta and a chocolate-ified tiramisu were two of the best desserts I’ve had in Asheville. The service (by Savannah) couldn’t have been better and the restaurant is beautiful, as is the whole newly-restored Flatiron hotel building. If you’re coming to downtown Asheville, don’t miss this gem!

We’ve lived in Asheville for 10 years, and Limones is ALWAYS our “go to” restaurant when we want a special to celebrate a special occasion or we want to impress out-of-town guests. Their menu offers a unique and fun selections for the main course, their specialty cocktails are terrific, and the service is friendly, personable and accommodating. (Garry, our server last night, is adorable!). I like the fact that the staff is a nice reflection of Asheville’s particular diversity is a big plus! The atmosphere is calm and warm, and the acoustics allow for great conversation. (If you are vegan, ask the server to have Chef assemble a “Vegan Surprise.” He’ll throw together a compilation of whatever plant-based sides are on the menu that day! Yummy!) We’ll be back soon… another birthday is coming up! Why can I not give you SIX stars?? lol. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The view was perfection, the food phenomenal, and our waiter, David, was personable and very knowledgeable in his recommendations for the evening. Hudson, new dining manager, is just an amazing young man who has earned the respect of the waitstaff. He is quick to pitch in to keep operations running smoothly. We were celebrating husband’s birthday. I ordered the scallops and husband ordered the King salmon. Both were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The service has always been impeccable and we have never had a bad meal or experience. While a little on the pricey side, it’s well worth it!

Everyone enjoyed the dinner and drinks. I had the smash burger, and I did not like it. The only option is two medium-well patties, and to me it just didn't taste very good.

We were a party of 8 after what appeared to be a private event. The staff was attentive, extremely personable and amazing! Food was delicious. Would definitely go again.
