We made a last-minute reservation on a Monday night. The hostess sat us at a wonderful window table with a great view of the lake. Daniel was our server and he made sure we had an excellent dining experience. We had been to 1878 for lunch, but this was our first time having dinner. It was an excellent experience with great food and service. We will be back. The Mud Pie is highly recommended.

We had a wonderful experience. We always do when we come here which is why we are back for all our special occasions. This was our anniversary. Food was outstanding. Service friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. It's a happy, bustling environment so expect a little noise. We recommend the Cowboy Steak and their crab cakes are delicious. I didn't have it this visit but the Wild Mushroom Ravioli is another favorite of mine and perfect for a vegetarian treat.

My meal was very good, as always. I've commented on this in previous reviews, but I really like the Caesar salad. It's a good sized portion, well dressed, and the large parmesan crisp in addition to the shaved parmesan gives it a lovely salty kick. I also appreciate the white anchovies, which is something a lot of restaurants do not bother with. Paired with the delicious crab cakes, it made for a perfect light dinner. James took great care of me as always, and it was nice catching up with Scott when he had time to chat when not taking care of other guests. My string of great monthly visits continues and I look forward to being there again next month.

Food was properly prepared and service was great. Would recommend to any visitor to town looking for a decent meal.
