The dining room exudes casual elegance with its wooden tables, blue glassware, and soft nautical lighting, looking out towards the back gardens.Designed with a nautical theme, the tavern is warm and inviting, with its shiplap walls, wooden ship models, and muted lighting. Chef Ross Moskwa is known for his soups and a menu that incorporates a flavor profile that is somewhat unique to the area. This quintessential Maine inn with a pub and restaurant is well worth the drive down to Pemaquid point. The food, service, and ambience are outstanding. The end keepers are personable and attentive. It’s a hidden jewel.

The Block is a jewel on the MidCoast, nestled in historic Thomaston. Featuring fantastic food from a select menu. We had the Mother’s Day brunch starring chef “Wiley” who delivered mouth watering brisket hash and French suzette toast. Boom! Owner Marty personally handled the front of the house, making us feel like family.

Wow! What a gem of a restaurant just outside of downtown Damariscotta! Loved the atmosphere surrounded by books about theater, a tribute to the owners.Service was fantastic. Drinks were good and an interesting beer list. Had a charcuterie with the most delicious hummus and a nice balance of meat, cheese, and fruit. Shared the paella- delicious! Plenty for more than two. Lightly but flavorfully spiced and lots of seafood. Other meals at the table were curry shrimp that was warm and well spiced, the perfect carbonara, and a huge burger. Wished we had tried some sides like the broccoli rabe and roasted carrots. They looked great at a neighboring table. Wished we had room for dessert- a strawberry rhubarb cheesecake. Next time! We will definitely be back! It’s pricy but worth it with the attention to detail in each dish and the highest quality of food and service. Glad we found this!
