There’s a mysterious, secretive feel to this restaurant tucked away inside a historic house, which sits surrounded by amber jewellers in the heart of the Old Town. Its ground floor has long high-topped tables that lend themselves to communal dining, while the first floor offers a bit more privacy. A concise menu uses excellent daily produce, with a distinct South American influence running through the dishes. Food prepared by our Head Chef - Jakub Śliwiński - is included in the Michelin Guide since 2024.

The name of our restaurant, Mercato, signifies the trade route of Pomerania – via Mercatorum, which historically connected Gdańsk with Southern Poland. Our menu combines local and seasonal products with culinary trends from around the world, using the latest techniques. The four symbols which inspire our menu are rooted in history – the broad bean grain, planted by the Pomeranians in e, the noble Baltic salmon, the ‘Fagas’ which was a large Pomeranian sheep bred on Zulawy, and finally the duck, used as a symbol of birds bred for centuries in Pomerania.

We pay great attention to detail. Our restaurant is an impressive blend of a XVII century building with modern thai-inspired interior. From cutting carrots to decorating plates, our kitchen staff consists of only high class thai chefs. Our waiting staff is very professional, guest-orientated and knowledgeable, but at the same time our service is slightly less formal, because we believe it matches the cuisine we serve.     Schönes Restaurant mit sehr freundlichem Service und einem tollen Ausblick über Danzig. Das Essen war ok. Mehr nicht. Das Highlight der bestellten Tapas war der Schinken auf dünnem Brot. Alle anderen Tapas waren lauwarm. Die bestellte Paella für 2 war leider sehr dürftig belegt und es fehlte etwas Säure. Alles in Allem ok bei sehr zuvorkommendem Service.

    Dinner was great, I only should have come hungry because in the end it was too much food. But all tasted great and the service was pleasant. It was my birthday and I got a small birthday cake with a candle, that was so thoughtful and it made the evening even more special.

    Było zdecydowanie za głośno i za tłoczno. Muzyka za żywo za głośna - nie do wytrzymania. Obsługa OK poza tym że pan zapomniał o zamówionym piwie. Jednak jest coś czego absolutnie nie mogę zrozumieć to cena biletu za wjazd do restauracji!!!! W żaden sposób nie kompensowana w rachunku restauracyjnym. Jesteście jedyną restauracja jaka znam do której płaci się bilet wstępu!!!! Rachunek za 5 osób razem z biletem to 750 zł. Za normalną restaurację / bistro. Za tą kwotę mogę odwiedzić restauracje w Gdańsku z rekomendacjami Michelin. To był mój obiad urodzinowy ale niestety zawiodłam się. Duże rozczarowanie urodzinowe.
