It was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent and the service was terrific! The manager came by and welcomed us. Additionally, they prepared a wonderful dessert for our Anniversary and Birthday Party!
We were looking for French cuisine, and we got it, but with some twists that were surprising to the downside.
For example- the halibut, while delicious, was served in a large bowl. The Denver of deer —the most expensive main- was tough, even though cooked rare.
The best dessert was the lemon tart- large and scrumptious; the strawberry verinne was much too sweet for our taste.
The decor was spare and modern- not surprising, given the **restaurant**’s name. Our table had a beautiful cherry wood top, and our chairs very comfortable moulded leather, but the party of eight at the next table was seated on obviously-old metal stacking chairs.
The servers were friendly and helpful, and as the room filled up, professionally handled the unexpectedly large crowd for a Wednesday night.
All in all, it is obviously still transition time after the Covid hiatus.
Absolutely amazing experience ! We love going to **Trattoria Gio**. It had become by far our favorite **restaurant** in Montreal. The food is fantastic, the service is wonderful and they offer the best sangria in town! Highly recommend!
