First time at this restaurant and everything was outstanding. The menu choices made me want a sampler platter because there are so many tempting choice. I ordered the hush puppies (so good, you’ll slap your mama), the pulled pork sandwich (a classic), and the banoffee pie (not overly sweet, but hits). Huge portions (took leftovers with me) and my server was so kind. Definitely will be back during my visit!

For a steak place, essentially, it has some of the best vegetable dishes I’ve ever had. I could have eaten an entire dish of the small roasted onions that came with my steak, which was also served with a lovely carrot puree. And the bread pudding is really stupendous, a very elevated take on that ubiqitous desert and among the finest I’ve eaten. We always plan one meal at this excellent restaurant when we are coming through Portland and are always pleased we made plans to eat there. It is reliable, satisfying, interesting, and a good value for the very high quality of food that seems to always be available.
