Le Yaca began in 1964 in Courchevel, a tiny, country village in the French Alps. Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans, they told the hopeful restaurateurs they were crazy to think people would drive eight kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner. Daniele and Gerard hesitated for three months and then decided, “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “il n’y a qu’a le faire,” which basically means, “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag, but the name caught on with customers who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States and opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Daniel Abid bought Le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge," and to top it all off, “Alain Ducasse.”

Le Yuca is the best restaurant in town. We took out of town visitors and they loved it. It’s the only true upscale, big-city style restaurant here — the ambiance, the decor, the attentive service and the creative approaches to standby meals. Plus the value is amazing for a quality experience like this. Our guests had the crab cakes and the pork and loved them. My wife had a steak — by far the best steaks in Williamsburg that put so-calked steakhouses to shame. And my fish was superb, as usual — creative flavors, superbly cooked, artistically plated. Great wine list too.

Another great lunch at Perry’s. Invited a colleague for his first time there. Kelsey was our server and she was wonderful! I got the famous Perry’s pork chop but could only eat half of it this time (running a 5k the next morning). My friend got the scallops and he loved them. Wine with my pork chop (Perry’s Cabernet) was exceptional. We had a. Long lunch and caught up with life. Highly recommend Perry’s.

Stella’s was absolutely amazing. I have never been there before and the food was incredible. We made these reservations months ago so the anticipation to finally eat here was high. Our server Gabe was the star of the show. It was very busy of course and he took the time to go over everything on the menu since it was our first time. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We can’t wait to come back again and hoping Gabe will be our server. We went with a lot of there specials including the fried squash balls (I’m still dreaming about them) and watermelon salad. We got the stuffed grape leaves and fire cheese as well for appetizers, both delicious. We all got drinks which were refreshing a delicious. The entree portions were huge and worth the price. We already are planning to come back as soon as we can make another reservation. My only complaint was because it was so hot outside it was hot inside as well, but that didn't matter when the food and service exceeded our expectations!
