In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

    1st time customers visiting from Austin. We requested patio harbor view and they gave best seat in the house next to the water. Views were spectacular at sunset! Service was excellent, waitress was spectacular. Ambiance also excellent, soft rock in the distance was just about right. ( I have a real dislike of noisy restaurants). Wife got the Red Fish and gives 4/5 stars. I got the Salmon and it gets 5/5 stars. Some of best I’ve had! Elissa sauce was excellent, Rice and veges were excellent. Key Lime pie was a 6/5 stars, 1 piece big enough for both of us. A very delightful evening all around, (glad the weather cooperated). Will def be returning at any opportunity!
