Restaurants near Luxury TreeHouse in Tahoe Donner

First time for us at Stella. Beautiful location, inside was very nice. Classy yet homey. The food was excellent. We had the cornbread (outstanding), winter squash soup for starters. My wife had the short rib ragout which was rich, creamy and excellent and I had the organic chicken with peruvian spices. The chicken was very tasty and the vegetables that came with it were excellent. We finished with a cheesecake and cappuccinos. Our waitress was excellent, friendly and very attentive. We will be back!

It was a beautiful day at Lake Tahoe. My guests hot dishes got cool because they were out on the Pier taking photos for too long. The Shrimp Lobster Bisque was delicious. The Chef graciously allowed us to Order a dinner item if we agreed to substitute a side dish as the Risotto was not prepped for lunch. All in all a fun half day excursion. Alternative: Try the “Water Bar” at the Sparks, NV Marina as the owners are the same, the menu is 80% identical and a few dollars less per item.

It was nice to see the renovations but the best upgrade since our last visit was hiring Martine, an amazing server! I dare say probably one of the best in Truckee — anywhere. We will definitely be back and hopefully be seated in his section!

Everything was terrific. Had the special soup (pumpkin bisque), the day’s special main, and one of the new winter mains. As usual, Michael led us through the choices and took great care of us. Dined on Thursday before MLK weekend and it was very quiet.

We’ve eaten at The Sawyer many times and I’ve always enjoyed their pizzas, but this time was a disappointment as the crust had no char and was soggy. The ramen and the hummus plate were both good, as weee the shishito peppers. It’s nice to be able to choose whether to sit in the quieter part of the restaurant or the livelier bar area.
