Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table. We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required. We do not offer any outdoor seating. Private dining, kitchen counter and large party seating available. Email hello@batatucson.com for inquiries.

“Mojo,” pronounced “mo-ho,” which means “Caribbean garlic sauce” in Spanish, is a citrus and garlic marinade and dipping sauce that is the foundation of many traditional Cuban dishes. Our menu is a nod to that tradition with a dash of modern expression to keep it fun and fresh. Mojo features an authentic line-up of traditional Cuban comforts like ropa vieja, empanadas, fried yuca, mojo chicken, and the quintessential Cuban sandwich. At our indoor/outdoor bar, guests will find an impressive array of rums designed both for sipping and for anchoring traditional cocktails all prepared against the backdrop of a regionally inspired soundtrack intentionally curated to accompany the shaking and stirring. Selections include Mojitos, Cuba Libres, Pina Coladas, and, of course, Daquiris, precisely the way Ernest Hemingway prescribed. Developed and helmed by a team of industry veterans, Mojo is a true collaboration of both local and national talent.

This was our first visit and we loved everything. Service was excellent, we were never waiting for anything and recommendations were spot on. The food was excellent. Very well executed with fantastic combinations of flavors. Favorite dish.....the sea bass. Least favorite (and it was still good)......the olive oil cake. Overall we are glad we listened to everyone telling us to go and we now see why. One of our favorite meals we have had in Tucson.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary like we did last year. I had to order the Mar Y Tiera Rib Eye steak again to see if it was as delicious as I remembered it being last year. It definitely was, and I couldn't stop telling my wife how good it was. It's the best steak in Tucson, in my opinion. My wife loved her meal as well, and we love Cielos as a whole. Great hidden gem in Tucson.
