Living in the Baltimore-DC corridor, I’ve often been disappointed in a lot of the pricey, highly rated dining options in either of those two cities. Neither seemed to compare to the top-rated places I’ve been to in the Philly area, where many of our relatives live. All that is an intro to state that Tupelo Honey is the first place we ate at in the Asheville area, and if other options are as good then Asheville will be much closer to the Philly area than the Baltimore-Washington area. Everything I had there, including the leftovers from my daughter’s mac-and-cheese, were among the best things I’ve ever tasted. We had the cauliflower as an appetizer, and I had the smothered chicken with crispy Brussels sprouts and a bowl of tortilla soup as sides, and they were all exceptional. My daughter and I also both had the banana pudding for desert. I’ve never had a banana pudding I didn’t like, but this too was exceptional. We will definitely be returning during our stay in the Asheville area.

Amazing views, great service. The food is just average and it is very overpriced. We really enjoyed our visit it just is not a good value for the money ($32 for an old fashioned!)

I eat at Milton‘s every time I visit Black Mountain. Love the old charismatic feeling of the whole building, **restaurant**, bar, sitting areas and especially the outdoor patio with a fireplace. The chef really knows his stuff, I tried trout for the first time and it was superb. Served with perfectly cooked roasted potatoes and squash. We were served by Riley a lovely professional young woman and honestly have no negatives about our special dining experience. experience.
