Fantastic restaurant 1st time there and will definitely be returning. Great value and traditional family run Italian restaurant with harbour views. Perfect for dates, catching up with family or friends!!!

Lovely atmosphere, great service and enjoyable food. Every care taken to ensure our comfort in a well kept Inn outside and in.

Isla was our server. She was incredible. We didn't have long - early dinner as we were going to the theatre, and she just got it. She understood that we needed to be a bit swift with our meals, bu we didn't feel rushed at all. Food was very tasty, the perfect size for our fairly hungry selves and the spicy margarita was REALLY good. I have reviewed many restaurants in my journalism career, and know hard it is to get all elements working together well - ambience, speed of service, acoustics, ratio and size of seats to table, great drinks and bar to accompany and complement the food, not to forget the washrooms (very important for women especially) and GOOD front of house staff. The Ivy in Bournemouth has a difficult location to battle with (in my opinion), but has all the elements nailed. And all thanks to waiting staff like Isla. Give that girl a bonus! Excellent large Pizza shared between the 2 of us. Service was also excellent. LOved it.

We had a really great meal at the Chequers pub. There were three of us plus dog. One of our party had a food tolerance issue and the staff were really good about checking whether the person's choice of meal could be an issue (it wasn't, so that was good). The dog got made a fuss of too. The only oddity was that the place felt really empty for a Thursday evening, which was a shame as the food and drink is great. Not something the staff can necessarily do a lot about, but it did feel quite lonely, and no general background music we could hear. 🤷
