Restaurants near Kaleva Depot Museum

This is as our third visit over a 2 week period, because it is walking distance from the cabin; but we would definitely drive here. The pastas and service are excellent. I had in succession the veal then chicken saltimbocca, but on this occasion I had the Bistec Balsamico: a perfectly marinated and grilled 12 ounce New York strip with an amazing balsamic reduction. Spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, tortellini with spicy Italian sausage…all amazing. Definitely start with the roasted olives and heirloom tomatoes when in season…in a deconstructed caprese salad. Our only disappointment the whole time in 3 visits was missing the lasagna twice (only got it with a 5 o’clock reservation ). Still so so good!!

We always love celebrating special occasions at The Boathouse. The patio seating is weatherproof and accommodates any weather conditions. We love a few special dishes and this year treated them as small plates to share. A perennial favorite is tempura asparagus. We also added a Burrata salad, oh yum, with added peach; and for protein we tried the new small plate lobster cakes topped by a scallop. Always delish, we’ll see you again.

The menu, service and food matched an incredible view of Lake Michigan and the most eclectic golf course anywhere. The scenery and just viewing the golf course is worthy of a visit. Our server Connor was so informed about the food preparation and wine pairing. This dining room and total resort experience was world class.

Excellent! We also enjoyed some drinks on the Adirondacks, at the Bluffs course, listening to the bagpiper. Absolutely wonderful.
