Perfect pub experience - brilliant food, great service and welcome, unbeatable location

The food and the venue were superb. Everything would have been 5 stars, but there was one young waitress who was very solemn and withdrawn in her service, and we felt a little cold as a result. Halfway through the meal, we began to be attended to by another mature, female waitress who was excellent, bubbly, caring and attentive. Obviously with age comes wisdom and experience, but in the public facing service industry, it’s necessary to put on a professional head at all times, especially when customers are paying a lot of money for their dining experience. It was clear that the restaurant was extremely busy, but that shouldn’t affect staff engagement. Nevertheless, all things considered, we had a lovely experience and delicious, well-prepared, cooked and served food of high quality. Thank you!

This is a true gem of a restaurant and we really got lucky getting a table at this small, elegant dining room in Stathfeffer. Booking is a must, and do it through Open Table as this is a hotel as well and the phones are very busy. Hey ready for a huge treat! Thank best wild mushroom soup I have ever had! My husband says the pavlova was the best ever! Thank you!
