We were welcomed by a roaring open fire then went into the dining room where we enjoyed a lovely, leisurely lunch on a cold and wintry day. We all had fillet steak with winter vegetables, which was all cooked perfectly. Unfortunately we booked a later sitting and when we were ready for dessert the poached apple wasn’t available. However, the brandy snap with raspberry sorbet and berry coulis was delicious as was the sticky date pudding. Happy customers.

We booked for a table of 12 at the shed Restaurant and felt a welcoming vibe from the moment we entered the doors. Our expectations are high when dining out as we have several fine dining chefs in the family and the Shed did not disappoint. Given we were a larger group we ordered a varied selection from the menu with each of us eating three courses, our meals arrived in a timely manner everyone was pleasantly impressed with their choices, all courses were cooked to perfection bursting with fresh flavours and first class presentation. The atmosphere was relaxed and the waiting staff were exceptionally attentive with good humour. The wine was great I especially enjoyed the sparkling. I highly recommend visiting the shed it was a great all round dining experience. We are definitely looking forward to a return visit soon. Congratulations to all on a fantastic team effort.

Calamari Salad is excellent - great flavours and tender calamari. Add a serve of chips if you want a hearty meal. Staff are great - relaxed, friendly and helpful.

So happy to see Six Russell listed as one of Tasmania’s top restaurants in The Australian. I’ve been in four times now, and every time it’s been amazing. The parfait and tartare are still my favourites, but this time we had friends in from the mainland and tried the wagyu beef and ‘very good mash’—and both were just utterly perfect. But Order the bread. That’s incredible. And servings were really large. Couldn’t fit in dessert. But couldn’t fault a thing. Highly recommend and the service is next level.
