Had a fantastic deal at Lovis, sampling the full tasting menu with a bottle of wine. The food was fantastic, being fresh, incredibly flavourful, and presented beautifully. The staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and the building, decor and ambience make for a very relaxing place to enjoy a special meal. Highly recommended.

We ordered the sourdough khachapuri with cheese and egg yolk (‘Ajaruli’) and the marinated chicken (‘Tapaka’), and everything was delicious. The sourdough was baked to perfection, and the chicken was incredibly juicy. Prices are on the higher side, though. We’d definitely come back and order the same again. Thanks to the staff for the great service!

I‘ve been here several times and really liked the food and vibes - alas last Friday was not as good as it used to be. The pkhali balls I like so much were disappointing - not freshly made and fluffy but clearly leftovers, made a day or more in advance (surprisingly, as the place seems to be well visited most nights). My friend, who was new to the restaurant (though not new to Georgia and it’s food), could barely finish her red beet pkhali. And the spinach ones were of a sorry green. Both types were dry. A word about service. Georgian meat dumplings, khinkali, come in portions of three or five on the menu, non of which I understand. A party of two would want to share two, or four? We were told that getting an order of two, or four, „wasn’t possible“. Wow. All in all it feels like they‘re still struggling when it comes to accommodating parties of two or single diners - not at all uncommon in Berlin. Maybe figuring out a one-person-tasting menu would be a nice option for newbies to sample Georgian food?
