The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check. For decades following, The Lex, as it’s called by locals and enthusiasts alike, was the place to be seen; business dealings, cocktail hours, and milestone celebrations were a regular occurrence for St. Paul socialites.

    Outstanding lunch experience! Our server, Mitch, was awesome. He helped us select a lovely rose' prosecco which was the perfect summertime wine! We tried the Brie Curds with Lingonberry ketchup - delicious! Then we each chose one of the signature chicken sandwiches, "The" Chicken sandwich and the Rotisserie Chicken sandwich... we split them both and loved how delicious and unique they each were! Then we shared the key lime pie for my friend's Birthday dessert... if you've never tried this at Hazelwood, I highly recommend it!! It's a "deconstructed" pie... lovely key lime mousse topped with whipped cream, and surrounded by delicious graham crumbles... it was the perfect balance of sweet & tart. DELICIOUS!!! And it's a huge portion - definitely perfect for sharing!! Thank you Hazelwood and Mitch for a great dining experience!

    Our server was Hailey she was amazing and u can tell she knows what she is talking about! Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and provided a back story on the chef and what she specializes in. We ordered the King Salmon medium done the verde sauce was out of this world! Would definitely visit kindred hearth again thank u for the amazing dinning experience!
