- AAlanNew York City •4 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThis was my second time at Ocean-Prime Chicago, and it didn't disappoint. If you like seafood or steaks, it can't be beat. Their pretzel rolls are soft and warm, perfect for melting butter. I started with a half dozen oysters on the half shell, their private label offering (cape cod). Served with a cocktail sauce with plenty of extra horseradish on top for mixing in. Next I had the Halibut, Halibut you say, such a common fish in a fancy restaurant. Unlike no other I've ever had. Served over a bed of gnocchi and lobster meat, with a tomato/lemon au jus. Out of this world. I would have loved to try one of their sushi rolls, or salads, but I'll save that for next time. I can't say anything about the deserts, except they looked amazing as they went by, too full for that. But I can comment on one of the best old fashions I've had. Added to the 4 Roses bourbon and Angostura bitters, was Aperol, gave it a sweetness unlike others. I actually went to the bar after I finished my meal to have another and get the recipe. The service was outstanding, if not a little too fast. I was eating alone so it didn't bother me, but if I had company I probably would have wanted a little more time between courses. Overall a great experience; great service, great food and great drinks. I highly recommend it for couples and business meetings. Probably not a great place for younger kids though.More infoOcean Prime - ChicagoPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Downtown / Loop•4.8
