Best Quality Daughter houses a vibrant, chic décor and new, unique Asian-American menu. In 2018, chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, wanting to address the sparsity of Asian-American female chefs in South Texas, developed a new concept through a series of pop-up dinners called Best Quality Daughter with fellow chef Anne Ng and artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk. Today Best Quality Daughter is located in the historic Mueller House at the Pearl Brewery. Curated by chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Best Quality Daughter's menu takes inspiration from her travels and the comfort food of her youth as a second-generation Chinese-American.

We had brunch here and everything we tried was delicious and we highly recommend. We had the ida biscuits with all the trappings - try them all. The chicken and waffles were really yummy, get the Nashville tenders if you want to step up the flavor and heat. Shrimp and grits were my favorite, grits the way they were meant to be and the sauce was well seasoned, very flavorful but not salty. The fried steak and potatoes were solid. My brother got these and said the steak didnt need to be fried but the potatoes were really good. To drink, we tried the frozen flight: frose, mango chili and the hurricane. I recommend the frose and the hurricane which is on the sweeter side. The mango chili was heavy on the mango so I wouldn’t recommend unless you really like mango

Everything we ordered was phenomenal with amazing depth of flavor. The interior decor is stunning and unique, only part of the overall modern/chic albeit cozy vibe. Service was superb from the greetings at the front door to our fantastic server Gretchen throughout the dinner experience. Highly recommend!
