Welcome to Sugar Boat - a relaxed & informal neighbourhood bistro in the heart of the town on Colquhoun Square, a stones throw from the sea front. We are open daily from 7.30am (8.30am on Saturday & 9am on Sunday's) through until late. We serve everything from breakfast with a cracking fry up or eggs benedict with or avocado & poached eggs on toast. For lunch & dinner we offer a la carte menus. Lunch is the more informal with burgers, fish & chips & daily sandwiches. Dinner can be a little more special. Cakes, scones & savoury snacks are available all day. We have a Wine Shop for off sales from our extensive list of over 100 wines - everything from £9.50 per bottle upwards. The meal was fantastic, good food which hit the spot. Chicken and sticky toffee pudding was the choices of the evening and it was delicious. Service was also fantastic, very polite and attentive team.

Nice place -much improved over the last ownership. Good service. Fish was very good and seemed fresh. A bit more expensive than other local restaurants/pubs., so only 3 stars for value. Will definitely go again.

We had the Ribeye Steak cooked medium rare ; all I can say is was melting in out mouths . The food was delicious. Will return to try other items on the menu , good all round restaurant totally recommend.

From the moment we arrived, we were made very welcome. The service was exceptionally friendly. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant but then moved outside for drinks because the weather was so good and the views from the beer garden are spectacular! We’ll be back soon!
