A warm and friendly welcome awaits overlooking the Wear in the ongoing regeneration of the Sunderland riverside. Inside the Sheepfold Stables is Greek/European fusion restaurant Ember which offers a well stocked wine cellar and a sensible selection of starters, mains and desserts to satisfy any palate. As well as the efficient and attentive staff, you will certainly not leave Ember hungry as the portions are generous and prepared with care. Ember is also dog friendly and they were happy to wrap up the bones from my main for Gypsy to enjoy at the end of the night. A very nice meal in a restaurant with a great ambience. Well worth a visit.

Great food at a reasonable price. Bar and serving staff were first class. Young chap behind the bar/served us was very polite and professional (didn’t get his name but had glasses).

We went for pre show food and drinks before going to the. Empire and the overall experience was excellent can highly recommend the staff for their service

Sat out on the terrace. Ordered wine, 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 sides. Came to less than £80 and the food was top drawer. Service was lovely too. Always a pleasure dining there
