- SShellMelbourne •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoWe happily discovered this delicious local Vietnamese restaurant by accident and am so glad we did. We've been enjoying eating out at Vietnamese regularly for the past 30 years and Ngon Ngon is by far the best vietnamese food we have eaten here in Melbourne. They have only been here 2 years and their customer base I'm sure, is going to grow very quickly. The food is so delicious - perfectly seasoned and cooked. Since discovering it less than 2 weeks ago, we have been four times and no doubt will be here at least once a fortnight, if not more, going forward. So far we have tried the grilled shrimp on sugarcane (the best we've ever had - generous serve, juicy and perfectly spiced), bo la lot (beef in betel leaf) again, juice and just perfectly balanced in flavours, crab spring rolls - 3 large and very 'crabby' rolls - nothing like I've had before and very yummy, grilled pork skewers (nice and juicy), pate puffs (like a Vietnamese style sausage roll, rice paper rolls with tofu, salt and pepper egg tofu (yum!), the grilled chicken vermicelli and the beef combination pho (delicious!). On our visit last week we tried the Vietnamese pancake and again, it was the best we’ve ever had. Super crispy with a juicy and super tasty filling of pork, prawns and bean sprouts. Everything we have eaten has been delicious and cooked to perfection. The owner, Dominique is lovely and is very passionate about local wines. House wine is Rob Dolan (my fav) and a few other really nice local Yarra Valley wines on the wine list. Prices are comparable to other local Vietnamese restaurants, however the food is so much better. We're so happy we have discovered Ngon Ngon and are heading there for lunch again today! Thanks Dominique and team!More infoPho Ngon NgonPrice: Moderate• Vietnamese• Croydon•4.6

The brisket and beef ribs were absolute standouts. We’ll definitely be back.More infoDainton Taphouse CroydonPrice: Moderate• Australian• Croydon•4.3

A warm, inviting atmosphere and a sense of calm that’s hard to find. You can actually have a real conversation making it a perfect spot for catching up with friends.
