Rogers green thumb and ambitions in the garden produce a number of different ingredients including lettuces, squash, beans, berries, apples, plums and tomatoes. Both chefs assist each other with the raising of their laying hens, meat chickens and turkeys ( NON GMO fed ) as well as tending to the restaurant's honey bees. The majority of the beef, lamb, pork and chicken used is locally sourced and pasture raised. we also focus on natural wild caught seafoods, and use NON GMO oils in preparation.

We opened on Valentine’s Day in 1953 in downtown Clinton, NY, and we’ve been sharing our love of good food and drink as a community gathering place ever since. John and Laura Alteri opened the doors and managed the restaurant until John’s death in 1960. We rebuilt after a fire in 1963, and the tradition was carried on by John’s son and daughter-in-law, Fernando “Feet” and Beverly, until 1998.
