Restaurants near Carrizo Plain

We were first introduced to Jocko's 25 years ago and love it. Every time we are visiting the south central coast we always eat at Jocko's. We have eaten there about 8 times. it is such an unusual place to have great steaks that our friends from the Palm Springs area wanted to go so 3 couples took a road trip just to have dinner at Jocko's and none of us were disappointed even though it has now been handed down to either the grandchildren or great grandchildren of the original owner. The decor has been updated with new tables and chairs and gone are the red and white checkered table cloths. The garlic enhanced pickles are excellent and of course the steaks cooked outside the restaurant over red oak wood with their special seasoning is the best steak we have ever had and they have been consistent over the years. 5 of us had the 10oz fillet and one had the 16oz Spencer (Rib eye) steak was as delicious. The meal comes with a salad, baked potato, beans, salsa, and ice cream for desert all included. The place is always crowded and energetic and a fun place to dine.

We really enjoyed the dinner at S.Y. Kitchen. We had a yellow beet salad, T-bone steak sliders, Mushroom pasta and the chicken dish. Everything was delicious and our server was wonderful. We will be back ❣️

We loved Mattei's Tavern and our fantastic servers, Jeremy and David. I think we were there on the last day the chocolate souffle was on the menu - you should bring it back! It was fabulous.

It was our first time back in years. Would prefer to have them feature more regional wines. One of the best salads we have ever had. Delicious Filet Mignon. Tasty 'Spritz' cocktail. White wine served a bit too cold. Will be back!
