Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

In Italian, the word, Secondo means “the second part of a duet.” When we opened Panico’s Bistro, we knew we wanted to eventually add some harmony to our original melody and so, Secondo is the continuation of our long-standing tradition to serve classic Italian cuisine in concert with Mediterranean influences right here in Cape May County. Nested beautifully on the bay, enjoy dinner and hand-handcrafted cocktails; inside in our sophisticated dining room or outside on our covered patio next to the harbor and water. Reservations recommended. Walk-ins are accepted based on availability. We will do our best to accommodate requests for seating preferences and/or outside dining, but they cannot be guaranteed based on limited outdoor seating. Outdoor dining may have additional wait times. Two bars (seasonal) are available to enjoy cocktails and wine should you arrive early for your reservation. For parties greater than eight or private events, please call 609-600-2115.

We had the Blue Plate Special consisting of a choice of one of two apps (I had the Ceasar Salad - my husband had the NE clam chowder), we both had the shrimp scampi over linguine in a white wine garlic sauce (chicken parm was the other) and a dessert (apple pie or tiramisu- we had one of each). The food was top shelf and so was the service and ambiance. Cost was only $29.95 per person!! We were totally satisfied and I highly recommend it.

Girlfriend and I went for lunch. I had the chicken Milanese and was very happy with the cutlet, arugula and shaved Pecorino on top. My friend had the salmon, and was pleased. Hostess and server were both accommodating and pleasant. Will definitely return.

Interior redesign has changed ambience for the better. Food very good although not trendy. Particularly liked rare duck breast with delicious shiitake bread pudding and foie gras sauce. My husband thought the crab cakes were delicious, and he is quite the connoisseur of this choice. The home made ice creams were good as well. Of course the large choice in fine wines helped to make the dinner special.

One of my favorite places to dine in Cape May. I had the pork chop with cavatelli. That was the best I’ve ever had so much different than mom used to make.
