Another delightful visit to this lovely local haunt. Service is beyond good, warm and friendly. Food terrific. Eggs Benny with smoked salmon and home made rosti delicious and chicken Caesar a great rendition of a favorite salad, and not drowning in dressing. We’ll be back.

We went to Marble Yakiniku to celebrate our daughter's 10th B'day (made reservation beforhand for 3 adults and one child); so it was all about our daughter. I was very happy that my daughter absolutely loved the food and the ambience and so did we. Food quality here is beyond words. We have our standard Japanese Restaurant which is in Melbourne CBD and wanted to try something different but were always scared because where we normally go has a very high quality of food. Marble Yakiniku did not disappoint us; infact they were above and beyond my expectation.

I chose the wagyu porterhouse. It was cooked to perfection at med/rare but was a steak of two parts. The first two thirds was what I would expect from a normal grade good porterhouse at half the price. The final third melted in my mouth as I would expect of a good wagyu steak. My wife chose the lamb loin. The waiter did not ask how she would like it cooked. Her preference is med/well so she was dismayed for it to be served med/rare. She did enjoy it after it was returned to the kitchen to be cooked to her preference although the promised sun dried tomato presence was miniscule. The service staff were excellent.

I feel the quality of Ichikatsu have dropped. My friend and I went for the Roast Katsu Pork set, and we could see a clear difference in sizes between our pork katsu. The breading is kinda lacking, and the pork was not as juicy as I remembered. We also ordered the truffle fries, but the fries were kinda soggy and the oil tasted a bit off. There wasn't much truffle taste to it. You could say it was like eating a stick of oil. Overall the meal was lacking. But I'm grateful for the 15% discount on weekdays.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Wagyu Ya Teppenyaki. The staff answered all our questions and gave us great suggestions for drinks to match the course that we chose. All food was fresh and our chef prepared all our meals to perfection. All the staff were very knowledgeable regarding the food and courses that were brought to us, including the curing processes and how the food is kept before the meal. It was our first experience with teppenyaki, it was amazing and we will be suggesting Wagyu Ya to our friends and family. We will definitely be back!
