Best Quality Daughter houses a vibrant, chic décor and new, unique Asian-American menu. In 2018, chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, wanting to address the sparsity of Asian-American female chefs in South Texas, developed a new concept through a series of pop-up dinners called Best Quality Daughter with fellow chef Anne Ng and artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk. Today Best Quality Daughter is located in the historic Mueller House at the Pearl Brewery. Curated by chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Best Quality Daughter's menu takes inspiration from her travels and the comfort food of her youth as a second-generation Chinese-American.

Food is amazing and this restaurant has lots of potential but... let me preface this with we went for an early dinner and we were the only customers at a table. Service was terrible, took forever to get drinks, food came out at all different times. One person didn’t get their meal until we were all almost done eating. We asked how much longer it would be since all the kitchen staff and wait staff was just standing around talking. The kitchen is open and fully visible. They completely forgot to make the meal. It was made quickly after that then brought to the table but no apology. The staff is very unorganized and doesn’t seem to have restaurant training. The food is phenomenal and for that reason we will be going back to give them a second chance but I honestly don’t know how this restaurant can survive if they don’t up their service. We have shared our experience with friends and a few have had the same experience. Also the Oaxafeller Oysters are advertised all over social media and we went with high hopes of trying them. No one seemed to know they even had it on their menu. Really hope they can get it together and survive because the food is phenomenal.
