"Food was simple, but tasty. Had the trio of kale salad, and the quiche special of the day. The quiche was spinach/bacon and it was an individual pie, with a very flaky crust and quite a generous portion. My fiance' had the club and it was huge, and also very good. Sat outside on the covered patio as it was gorgeous spring day. Nice relaxing atmosphere."See more

"We tried NPH after we heard good things about it in several different circles. Their cocktail menu had several interesting concoctions, and we tried the Lilet Lemonade. It was fabulously refreshing. We both had the black bean and chorizo soup, which was quickly served, and was quite flavorful. We tried two main courses, the meatloaf and the pork chop. Both meals were accompanied with potatoes and vegetables. The serving sizes were quite large, but after tasting them we were glad they were. We finished the meal with two different desserts- a strawberry crisp and a chocolate s’more pie! Both were excellent. Our waiter, Trevor, was very friendly and excellent in his service to us. We will highly recommend this restaurant to others, and look forward to when we return!"See more

"Whether you stay at the historic inn or elsewhere, this restaurant is a must visit while in the Blowing Rock area. The service is exceptional, the food delicious and the wines are not going to be your usual finds. Portion sizes are generous. The food is freshly prepared. We started with a salad. The greens fresh with restaurant prepared dressing that enhanced each salad. I highly recommend the arugula salad. Salmon and Filet Tips were our main course choices. Both were prepared to our specifications and delicious. The salmon was on a bed of beluga lentils, which is a nice unexpected side dish. We finished with a house made key lime pie slice. The graham cracker crust was indeed made in house and the key lime was filling the right lite touch to the meal. I highly recommend The Chestnut Grille! Well done, team. We'll see you again when in the area."See more

"The very best restaurant! They have found perfection in every detail and every dish. The location is also magnificent. We had the seafood salad and pate to start. The seafood salad was fresh and tasty and the pate amazing! We each had the pork tenderloin and it was out of this world. It was cooked to the perfect temperature and was tender and the black lentils and asparagus each had their own delicious seasoning, texture and taste. Truly a work of art! We had the flourless chocolate torte and it was the best we’ve ever had. Jessica was our server and helped us with every course selection, was attentive throughout the evening and made the experience wonderful! The Chef also came out twice to make sure everything and everyone was enjoying themselves. Gideon Ridge is perfection!"See more
