Restaurants near Agios Nikolaos Monastery

Wasn’t aware I’d be eating on a busy street corner next to a mounted menu where passerby’s would stop to read it smoking and sweating and chatting and bumping it one. Chairs were uncomfortable and sidewalk was slanted making me feel slightly off balance the whole time. Service was efficient but not personable. Food was wonderful and meal was well paced. Wine pairings were ok, but pours were small for 50 euros for 4 glasses of wine over 9 courses. Wine was often poured after a course was completed. For example, when we transitioned to red meat we finished our first red meat course before we were poured our first red wine glass. Very sparse explanations of courses and none for the wines. Having made this reservations months in advance I would have hoped for a bit more personalized experience. Food was again delicious and complex in flavors.

We had the wine experience, and it was wonderful. George was gracious and even gave us recommendations for our next destination. The view from the 2nd floor was amazing.

everything was excellent! Particularly our waiter(Alexeadros?). And also our lady sommelier whose name I did not catch.But every single glass she recommended was excellent!! The ambience inside was outstanding with beautiful chandeliers hanging across the restaurant and the outside Terrace was very lovely as well with very pleasant live music ! I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the downtown Central Athens area near the Acropolis .

Wonderful Four Seasons staff and delicious food. Always happy to dine here.
