By far the friendliest and best value Michelin dining experience we have ever had. Food was exceptional. Service was so accommodating and there was an ease and sincerity to the whole experience. The seafood chowder is the best I have ever tasted . Our young children loved the food and the idyllic setting . This place is very special. Considering it’s prestige it’s really well priced compared to so many less prestigious dining establishments in the area. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys exceptional food and wonderful service. We are local Galway people who are regulars to the Universal. We love the atmosphere, the cocktails, the food. We love that we often dump into people we know there, it's very unique to Galway and definitely is known more by the locals, who love it then by tourists I would say

Best Sticky Togfee pudding on the isle (so far) that we have had. Both fish dishes were very good. The fish & chips was good but not as good as The Brazen Head in Dublin. Service was attentive and overlooking the water was special.

Great service, super friendly and accommodating staff. The menu felt somewhat sparing, I miss the croquettes, but the taste was delicious. Would highly recommend.
