Landmark Americana - University City Ratings and Reviews
Food took an hour and 15 minutes, waitress only came to our table one time besides bringing food and drinks. The table next to us got there just as we did, they got a discount for their wait for their food, we did not. Along with they’re discount they got all their drinks taken off their tab and more free drinks after, we also did not receive this service. Long waits, and poor service resulted in a bad experience.
We were disappointed in how they did not have many wine choices (out of pinot grigio, white zinfindel and sauvignon blanc). Also, it was very cold inside, many of us eating with our coats on even after repeatedly asking for the heat to be turned up. The food was fine, the price was right, and our server was nice. We were a large group and they took good care of us - it was unfortunate it was so cold inside.
The food was terrible, though our server was very nice: many other better brunch spots in the city, from the cash only Honey's, to the higher-end Continental. Reviews on Yelp are misleading: this place is alive only because it has a captive audience of Drexel students who live around there and frequent it. I would NOT recommend it at all. The quality of the brunch items, from eggs to burgers and pancakes was very poor.
I've been to Landmark a couple times, and each time I haven't had a terrible experience with the food. I went with a group of friends and we all had a enjoyable time there.
However, despite the food being good, I did not have a positive experience like I normally do. In fact, I am quite disappointed with Landmark and they should be glad that I am not pressing charges or anything like that. The night that I went to Landmark, I sat in a booth with my friends. I went to the bathroom and when I came out, I slipped and actually fell on the ground, landing next to another booth that was occupied. Initially, I didn't think too much of the fall and I got up pretty quickly. People did stare at me but I didn't care about that. When I returned to my booth, 2 of my friends were laughing at me, telling me that the area that I slipped on, a waiter had recently just dropped soup and wiped it up so that area was extremely slippery. There weren't any "slippery when wet signs" and so I wasn't aware that the area was slippery. Right after the fall, I didn't feel any pain on myself until the day after; the part of my body I fell on started hurting.
Honestly, this entire experience really damaged my mood the entire night. The waitress felt bad for me but I told her it was okay since accidents happen. However, I was still really disappointed and the waitress only put the wet floor sign up after she had learned that I fell. I received no compensation from this experience and I am extremely disappointed in Landmark.
Landmark americana has a great location, right in the heart of Drexel’s University city campus. Unfortunately the beautiful Decour is more than offset by a limited menu Of bark Rob. Even worse, the food taste bland overcooked and generally in edible. The only food we enjoyed where the fries, which were crisp and delicious. The wings and tenders tasted like frozen Purdue.
The bar was quite lively, and had a huge drink selection. If you’re going out for cocktails with friends, this might be the place for you. But I suggest you eat beforehand.
The inside was beautiful. I had spectacular service along with a great meal with a good friend. It was my first time going there and I will by far be returning to this location. The food came out in a timely manner and I do not have one complaint. Keep it up!
Landmark is your average mid-level chain restaurant, like Applebees or whatever.
Dishes are standards (burgers, ribs, grilled salmon, fajitas, etc.)
On this visit, the coffee was actually served hot - a first! You normally have to send it back to get fresh coffee, because it's cold when they bring it to the table.
Landmark eats were decent to good. Nothing spectacular. The food seems a bit overly "bar-centric type food. (Meaning a LOT of fried finger type foods on their menu). Having said that their wings are a strong part of their menu. Try the wings with the spicy habanero sauce and also try the Jamaican jerk chicken wings as well. You'll enjoy them both. We also had the seafood bisque and the chili as "starters" to our meal. The table liked them but they were a bit on the "warm" side when served to us. I had the French Dip as an entree'. It left a lot to be desired. The bread was good but the meat was virtually encased by way too much melted cheese for my taste. And the au jus dip itself was extremely underwhelming and lacked any sort of substantive taste to speak of. As you know the dipping au jus is a vital component of this sandwich. If its not good then it means the sandwich is underwhelming...the sandwich was underwhelming. Others at my table had the Americana burger (which they enjoyed). Our waitress was actually pretty good and was pretty attentive to our needs during our meal. But if you're cool with a bar centric menu (which seems to be their strength) with excellently placed tv's (sports) to hang with friends then this is a decent experience. But avoid that French Dip!
Despite arriving on time for reservation, we were taken past many open tables to the farthest table from the front behind a wall. No people of color seated in the front half of the restaurant. Waitress never refilled water. Thread bare furnishings and dingy wall paper cry out for renovation. Complaints only got us moved one table closer to front. Food okay. Garlic wings good. Will never go again.
This was a first visit to Landmark. We arrived just at opening for brunch. The menus offered a good range of options for breakfast and lunch. The coffee was excellent. The restaurant was busy but not over run. Service was fine - we didn't want for attention.
It was very convenient since our group had to change plans last minute. Happy Hour selection /price was reasonable which was a plus. The only thing that needed to be better was the fact that our server began to rush us to pay our check. We won't be coming back any time soon
Good food but limited menu. I guess I expected something a little different.
We were seated initially in an area that was snug between 2 different groups of people. There were other open tables in more open areas. we had to get up and move because the couple next to us were arguing. (I was with my 9 year old son)
My drink was good and the service was fairly prompt.
