Landini Brothers Ratings and Reviews
Just Perfect! I am so glad I took a chance after having so many poor meals in Old Town. I am a new resident to the area and am so happy to have found you. Thank you to the Chef, the Owner, the Manager and our waiter for caring to provide an excellent culinary experience. It is rare in this area. Seems like too many restaurants take advantage of the constant flow of tourists or the slim pickings to provide quality meals. Please don't change. I will be back again & again!!
Ordered appetizers and meal at same time. Waited and waited and waited and then our meal showed up. No appetizers. When we brought it to the attention of the waiter he said, “sorry, we are sold out of them”. Never once did anyone come by and say we are out of your appetizer selection can we offer you a new one. Poor service and I expect more from Landini Brothers, this is my families favorite restaurant and it is my go-to spot for entertaining clients. Two out of the last 3 times I’ve been there in the last month they have run out of salmon? Never in the 20+ years of going there can I remember them running out of salmon.
Have only been once so this review is limited. Food and service were good but didn't wow. Competent, convenient restaurant in old town, but expected more based on reviews and longevity. Prices are in line with Old Town location yet felt was overpriced due to standard food quality. We liked it enough we will go again but probably try different menu items (had the veal parm and a rockfish special) on return. Loved the atmosphere for a dinner with friends we don't see often.
food and everything was good. Waiters need to be a tad more attentive. asked for a glass of red wine when someone served our plates, never to return so never received. A little better listening on the waiters part such as listening to requests such as leaving dressing on the side, etc. would be appreciated. Nice guys though.
Fantastic experience, from the Receptionist's Greeting; to the owner's "Warm Welcome 'Franco Landini'; to the excellent cocktails and service by Mitch, 'The Maestro extraordinaire'...through the Dinner service which exceeded everything that came before...to include "...the introduction by the Owner to his next door neighbor who just happened to drop by with Family for a traditional New Year's-2018 celebration dinner.
All in all, a foodie's delight with exquisite Oysters Rockefeller, Bruchetta, and fresh salads, through main courses of mouthwatering ravviol'is and rockfish. As if that were not enough, the Chocolate dessert put us all out our misery... and we crawled home moaning and toasting the cumulative experiences!!!
One of the best restaurants in the DC/VA area, with authentic Italian. Always a wonderful meal at Landini's. High-quality ingredients and meals; we so appreciate this restaurant!
We had veal, sea bass, pasta, salads. Wonderful servers and service - very professional.
Fro the time we arrived it was clear the staff were all trained to be cheerful and welcoming. Our waiter, Ron was polite, very knowledgable of the menu and congratulated us on our anneversary. The wine list was great and the Champagne list numerous. The food was wonderful, especially the veal. The bill was very reasonable. We will return ! Jeff and Ann . Alexandria,Va
We have eaten at Landini's before and had excellent service. However, this time was much different. Our reservations were for 8:15 and we were promptly seated. After waiting about 45 minutes for our entrees, my husband had to get up and ask our server what the problem was. He explained to us that they had a large party upstairs earlier in the evening and it had thrown the kitchen behind. Honestly, we wouldn't have minded as much if our server had told us what was happening without us having to ask. Also, maybe the restaurant could have offered a free dessert or free appetizer for us having to wait so long. The food, once it arrived, was wonderful. However, after having drank the entire bottle of wine waiting for it to get there, who knows?
I had family visiting from out of town for the holidays and took them to Old Town and then to Landini Brothers for dinner. I’ve been there many times and hoped they would like it as much as I do. They loved it and said they wanted to go back again before going home. Picky family members were impressed! Everything was great.
A fun, warm, place to have a holiday meal. We’ve been three times around Christmas time with family and friends and it always puts us in the mood for the holidays. Feels like old Europe inside with the stone walls and all the lights and beautiful plants and decorations. The food is delicious and filling. The service attentive.
We always enjoy ourselves at Landini Brothers. Wonderful food, wine, service, and ambience in Old Town Alexandria. Cozy and romantic inside in colder months, and wonderful sidewalk dining when the weather permits. Love taking friends and family here for special occasions. Love the daily specials and the veal. Hot tip: best after-dinner coffee EVER!
This was the worst dinning was experience of my life. I take that statement seriously. We didn’t have a server. After siting for 20mins someone told us about the 8 specials (guessing) in 30 seconds. Before we had time to ask questions the person was gone. We were well aware that if we had questions that this person would not be able to answer due to his language barrier. Another 10 minutes passed and we were asked “what do you want.”
Despite a reservation for 2 at 5 pm, we were given a table for 2 in a room that was totally empty and that they were still setting up. Felt like a barn. There were empty tables for two in a cozier room but they would not seat us there. They eventually sat two very large noisy parties in the room we were in. Not a very pleasant dining experience. Food was good.
Landini Brothers is a local classic. The food is always wonderfully prepared, there are a number of nightly specials that change based on seasonal availability. Professional wait staff who really know their menu. It is old town Alexandria, so be prepared to pay $30 for a plate of pasta - that is my only hesitation recommending to certain folks from the price point perspective.
My hubby and I are foodies. We found Landini Brothers through Yelp. Anniversary dinner. Everything was fantastic. One small note was one of our servers seemed distracted, not well, maybe just having a bad night...distracted from attentiveness of service. Otherwise an awesome dining experience!
Very reliable. Good service. Dishes were good. Serving sizes are ample. Ordered a side dish of broccolini which was not on the menu. It was steamed, wilted, cold and without flavor. That did not take away from the overall experience. Everyone in the party of 6 was pleased.
