I brought 2 friends for one friend’s birthday as she said she loved lobster dish there. She has artichoke appetizer and said it was very small and lobster was chewy which is unacceptBlr at $45. He said his veal was chewey. I had chicken ceaser salad which was good. My rum n coke was $12 and a split of champagne $25. Our bill was over $160 minus tip (200 with tip) for 3 people and they didn’t like their food! I wouldn’t go back.
Another great meal at Landini Brothers. The pasta with lobster was amazing! This restaurant is always consistent...great service and great food.
Food was good but a bit overpriced. I made the reservation through OpenTable and indicated it was a birthday celebration. I really appreciated that they decorated the table with some birthday confetti and served a slice of tiramisu with a candle. Nice atmosphere.
I have been a fan and client of Landini Brothers for probably 30 plus years. Great neighborhood bar and restaurant and also great for groups and special occasions. Terrific staff, friendly service and special food. Can’t miss!!
Food was average but the waiter was not. Terrible waiter. Felt rushed. He was very difficult to understand. Had to ask him multiple times to slow down and repeat the specials. He then brought out the wrong dish. We just rolled with it. I’m not from the area but I’m sure there are better places in the area.
After 20 years of dining here , I am finally giving up. The last 2 meals have been terrible and the service is poor. They have a new staff of young kids at the desk who don’t know how to seat people properly.
The quality of the food has gone way down. And we paid $60 for an order of 5 lagustinos .. and they were soggy ..
we had great time great food and ambience staff super!
wife daughter and I great dinner no hassles or hurrying up....
definitely back when next in DC!
Superb food and very attentive service. Not perfect though as it was very rushed. I had three courses and was finished in less than an hour. Could have done with a little pause between courses and a more relaxed pace.
Wonderful staff
Great waiter great food, can't miss for a good date night.
The menu led to the reservation, the off menu specials led to the review. The specials were amazing!
I chose Landini because I knew they would make my husband’s special birthday dinner special, attentive, delicious and memorable. I was right on all counts. Still they exceeded my expectations and we and a wonderful , romantic evening and the detail and attention given to my husband on his birthday was amazing .
The food was excellent along with creative presentation.
The ambiance was great and the food was delicious! Service was very good. Enjoyed the dinner very much.
This was not our first visit (we’ve been fans for over 20 years.) It was delicious and we’ll be back again.
The food was delicious and the service excellent and friendly!
As usual, the food was fantastic. We have been there many times are are never disappointed w/ food or drinks :)
Something happened in the kitchen where our order was forgotten. Our waiter did everything possible to make amends. His service was impeccable and the meal (when it arrived) was excellent.
We have been to Landini Brothers numerous times and this was the first errant visit. I would go there again without hesitation and recommend it to anyone who has a high standard for service and food. It is one of the best (if not the best) in Alexandria.
Although noisier than expected, the food, drinks, ambience, and service all contributed to a very nice evening. Some servers were more knowledgeable on the wine list than others. We had a mix of specials and menu items. For USA Italian food, this was at the top in the D.C. area. Now for the food review: persimmon salad was delightful, the Parma ham was not as silky as expected, the shortrib over risotto was tender and flavorful but too salty, the sea bass was a wonderfully balanced dish thoroughly enjoyable, and we both wished we hadn't ordered the tiramisu. I suspect the chef uses whipped cream rather than mascarpone cheese in the tiramisu. Regarding the bar, it has the basics for making most of what D.C. expects, but what's available to the main dining room is embarrassing from an Italian perspective. They had no amaro selection! We asked for some specifically, and they admitted to having it in their cigar club but wouldn't serve it to us. Call me crazy, but local patrons shouldn't have to pay $15,000 to give themselves cancer in order to get a common Italian after dinner hospitality at an Italian restaurant.
Landini is always a top notch restaurant. All of the items on the menu are great. Service is alway exceptional and a very cozy atmosphere. Probably our favorite place. Not a cheap dinner though.
We went to Landini Brothers for Valentine's Day and frankly we were disappointed. The menu had clearly been changed to have fewer options and higher prices for the holiday, and it was more than I wanted to pay for the experience we had. The appetizer was good but the main dish for both myself and my husband were unoriginal and lacking in flavor. My seafood pasta in particular was almost completely flavorless and was mostly full on not very fresh seafood with very little pasta. We ended up skipping dessert and deciding not to visit again after paying our $150 bill.
Service was rushed. Artichoke appetizer was mediocre. Veal scallopi was very good. Overall experience was just OK.
As always, outstanding food. The main. attraction@
Went for a Valentine’s Day dinner. Food and service were excellent as always. Food is always perfect and served quick. The servers have a great personality and are always friendly. Great for any occasion.
We were very disappointed with the food and service at Landini Brothers. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and the most positive thing I can say is that they diD observe that with a lovely tiramisu with a candle. Hooray! We were very disappointed in the food, but to the restaurant’s great credit, they did remove my husband’s very disappointing entree from the bill. ( he ordered. Pasta dish not usually on the menu, but they advertise on line they will make a pasta dish you want). My main course, the special of the day was good, so no complaints ther.e, But mty house salad was sad: my husband and one guest liked the Caesar: another guest of Italian heritage had the Tortellini en Brodo..very disappointing.
For a restaurant that charges top dollar it was beyond disappointing.
Terrific meal with equally great service from Sam.
Delectable Italian cuisine. The waitstaff were friendly and prompt. I love this place.
It was our first time at Landini Brothers and we were so impressed. It was a special occasion and they knocked it out of the park. Great wine, food, service and ambiance. We had a great evening.
Everything about our meal was amazing! Highly recommend.
The food was delicious but the service was slow. The restaurant was not busy but our waiter was hard to find. Had to get up from the table after about 10 minutes, after our plates were taken away, to get our check. We were never offered coffee or dessert.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. Food was incredible. Service was impeccable.
Husband's veal parm was disappointing--chewy and hard to cut through--and much higher priced than elsewhere. So-so wines by the glass were priced higher than other area restaurants.
As always one of the best restaurants in the area. Eat at L.B’s several times a month. All time favorite.
The service was very good. But the courses arrived too quickly. So we felt a bit rushed. We would have liked a more leisurely paced dinner. Cocktails arrived and appetizers arrive after only a couple of sips.
For over 20 years we have enjoyed the excellent dining experience at a very popular place.
Service is always good and the food and wine selections are great. We have celebrated company xmas parties , big surprise birthday parties and have dined there just for a romantic evening.
Never has let us down.
The restaurant was perfect. From the reservations being held, to the service, to the excellent food. We had a wonderful dinner. Only drawback was of no fault of the restaurant. There was another table near us that were rather loud.
Always one of my favorites! Consistently good food and service!
We've been to Landini Bros several times in the past and are always very pleased with the food and service. This was a family event and the staff took great care of us from when we first arrived. Cant wait to go back.
the food is always great at Landini Brothers. We always go there for dinner when we visit Alexandria.
Dinner was excellent from the appetizers to dessert...we will definitely visit again when we are in the area..it was a very pleasant dinning experience
Just Perfect! I am so glad I took a chance after having so many poor meals in Old Town. I am a new resident to the area and am so happy to have found you. Thank you to the Chef, the Owner, the Manager and our waiter for caring to provide an excellent culinary experience. It is rare in this area. Seems like too many restaurants take advantage of the constant flow of tourists or the slim pickings to provide quality meals. Please don't change. I will be back again & again!!
