Lancelot Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Everything about the evening was great! Not very busy, so the waitress was very attentive and very friendly! No rush to get us out, there for over 90 minutes. The Prime rib was perfect, as it always is! Here in Vail all week, best dinner we had the entire time!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Lancelot. It was more modern than the Bavarian exterior suggested what ch we liked. My husband was thrilled to have escargot! This is a traditional appetizer that we do not see that French anymore. I had the roasted beet salad which was a special for the evening. While it was tasty, it was simple and perhaps could have used more dressing/seasoning. My husband had the Wiener Schnitzel and I had Coconut Crusted Sea Bass. Both enters were very good and beautifully presented. We finished the meal with Apple Strudel...yum! Just right to share for a taste of dessert without going overboard. Our server, Patia, from Bulgaria, was a delight. Funny and helpful! We will certainly head back to Lancelot!
We were attracted to the restaurant by thebeautiful flower boxes and menu featuring prime rib. Very nice server,Jacquie paced the meal perfectly; mussels forappetizer were excellent, prime rib was also prepared as requested. We will certainly recommend and return to Lancelot!
I would give more stars if I could! Jeff, from Lancelot, helped me to treat my parents to a dinner celebrating their second honeymoon in Vail. He definitely went the extra mile with customer service, and communication. My parents just raved about the restaurant and the food, it was a wonderful experience for them. Thank you!!
I've heard of this restaurant for years and finally decided to try it after perusing the menu one day when I stopped there for a cocktail. I saw trout almondine on the menu and I was excited to see this traditional item. However, I was there for a birthday celebration and the trout was quite disappointing. Also, most restaurants do something a little special for birthday celebrations... Nothing was done. My husband's dinner, The wienerschnitzel, was pretty good. Don't know if I'll go back again?
Go for the prime rib...it was outstanding as was our sweet server. The Host on the other hand was a grumpy, cranky man who clearly has had his fill of tourists and their entitlements...wrong business for him to be in I guess! He almost had us walking out the door because of his ungracious demeanor. Our server (she's got a new baby and studying accounting and could not have been nicer although we forgot her name!) and the great prime rib and a good bottle of wine and cocktails put us in a better frame of mind!
We have dined at Lancelot in Vail on a number of occasions. The prime rib is their specialty and it is always superb. They slow roast it and nothing beat the tenderness of this dish. We enjoyed our server who got into the party spirit as we were celebrating two birthdays at our table. The restaurant is a little pricey for those of us who don't live in Vail, but is probably in the average price range for Vail. We enjoyed our dinner and will return for another special occasion in the future. We also recommend Lancelot highly if you are in the mood for prime rib. I should mention that one diner had trout almondine which was excellent and another had chicken which he enjoyed. The creme brulee desert was excellent as well.
The 4 of us enjoyed our evening dinner on the patio of Lancelot overlooking Gore Creek after having drinks and music in the bar. We recommend the appetizers (mussels, coconut shrimp, calamari). The tomato basil soup and the clam chowder were exceptional. The coffee is wonderful. The creme brulee was a good finish. Really liked our waitperson, Jen. Will return for a 4th time when we visit Vail again since it is near the place we stay and we like being able to hear each other talk.
The place is known for prime rib, and one's prime rib was fine but not great. Another had almond trout, also sufficient but not special. A third had prime rib and only ate a quarter. She didn't complain to the waiter, and he didn't ask why she ate so little and did not want a to-go box.
We were seated immediately upon our arrival at a perfect table, just inside from the patio. The food was delicious. I ordered the special beet salad and the appetizer coconut shrimp. My date had a steak salad. We each had a glass of wine. The bill with tip was just under $100. Not bad for a dinner in Vail.
