L'Amore Ratings and Reviews
Thoroughly enjoyed it the food was great the service was fine the bartenders were great everyone was very nice and seems like the people that do go there seem to be pretty good also very friendly crowd I would definitely go back and recommend this to all that I know
Beyond that this restaurant is pretty much just for Retirees, it was recommended that we go outside since it was " Well Heated" which it wasn't, we didn't complain, we had a heat lamp moved closer. It started raining on us and were placed at a corner table still outside. We again didn't complain. We were the only table to be left outside, everyone else was brought inside still didn't complain. Some putz moved the chairs from out of the rain and surrounded our table with them which made the whole ambience really enchanting, we still didn't complain. When we were leaving, I went outside to pull our car up so my Fiance didn't have to walk in the ran. When she cracked the front door open the Manager snapped at her to "Close the door" There wasn't visibility outside unless that manager thinks she had xray vision. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE! So to those who would consider going here.
Our sever did a fine Job that was literally the only bright spot, the food is nothing noteworthy. so if you're 45 or under this retirement home of a restaurant is not the place to spend your money. Go back into PHX where you won't incorporate a hospital smell mixed with Mediocre Italian food.
L’Amore is our favorite local restaurant. The food is delicious, and the service is attentive. The owners are almost always on hand to lend a little familial charm to the place. Their seafood dishes are particularly well prepared, but don’t miss out on their pasta specials and amazing lasagna. Their steamed clams are the best I’ve ever had (get lots of bread for the broth). We will be dining at L’Amore for years to come.
L'Amore is a treasure! Wonderful location with delicious choices for a great value. Exceptional wine selection and intimate setting makes for an unforgettable dining experience. We enjoyed cioppino, sea bass, cannelloni - great selection for everyone. Service was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the selections. We look forward to our next trip to the Phoenix area and our next meal at L'Amore!
The menu is very limited. They only offer the basic Italian dishes. The only sauces available for the pasta and gnocchi were either a marinara, bolognese or Alfredo. I like more of a variety such as pesto, Gorgonzola, carbonara, etc. I ordered the gnocchi with marinara, the gnocchi were good the the sauce was nothing special and too much on the plate. My husband’s pasta dish was also over-sauced. The real super star of the meal was the lemoncello cake, it was delicious!
Wasn’t sure what to expect- some older clientele. Busy night- had a reservation but chose not to wait and ate at the bar. Good wine price and value, food was excellent, service was great, and meeting the owners was a nice touch! Cioppino ( non traditional but loved it more - seafood pasta w red sauce perfectly cooked scallops huge shrimp fresh shelfish ) and eggplant parm so fresh and good without heavy greasy breadding- delicious and excellently prepared. Next time I will save room for dessert. We will be back
It was our first visit. Service was slow. Very noisy for the size of restaurant space. Most of the food was good to very good. Exception: the salad with grilled chicken. My wife said half of the chicken was very rubbery. If I had know this we would have sent it back. The place was packed and the 2 Managers/owners were very nice.
Chose this restaurant based upon Open Table reviews, but was disappointed. Had reservation for 7PM on a Saturday night, and arrived on time. After a short wait, we were seated but had to wait to be greeted by our server. Tried to order the fish special, only to find out that they had already run out of that as well as the Short Rib special. Disappointing given that it was a Saturday evening. Ultimately had baked ziti which was okay, and our wives had the eggplant parmigiana. Took over an hour from the time we ordered for our meal to arrive, and in the interim, were told that they had run out of eggplant and weren't sure if they had already made ours. Fortunately, eggplants arrived, but were small portions, with not enough red sauce. Dining took over two hours for a meal that was okay, but nothing special. When we commented to the owner, his response was underwhelming. Will not be back.
Hard to beat a place with great food, service and ambiance. From the time that you sit down and the owner then comes to sit at your table and chat to the cheerful good byes, it is nothing less than a cozy, friendly and well worth it visit. We won't miss it next time we are visiting in Phoenix area.
I have been to L'Amore many times. For my friend, it was her first time for dinner. Austen was our server and very friendly; not pushy. The food is always excellent; the background music was wonderful - not too loud, just right. The host and hostess are very friendly and welcoming. Good public relationship. We stopped for an after dinner drink at the bar and Octavio was very friendly also. We'll be back!
We had never been to this restaurant before but saw they had outdoor dining so we decided to try it. Unfortunately the outdoor patio had a wedding party on it so we couldn't eat outdoors. We had a reservation at 7 but was not seated until 7:20. The staff did their best to get us a seat but people were lingering longer at their tables. Once seated the service was very good. The food was excellent. It is a bit loud due to the large bar area and a singer, who was quite good. We all enjoyed our meal very much and will likely go back but possibly later in the evening when it seemed to clear out a bit.
